Who We Are
The Foundation for the San Diego Met High School is a 501(c)3 non-profit fundraising organization which was founded in the fall of 2015. The Foundation’s primary objective is to plan and execute fundraising initiatives and related events. We seek to enhance and support the educational experience at San Diego Met High School, as well as develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging family involvement through financial and volunteer support.
All funds received remain at the school and are directed to projects that directly benefit San Diego Met students, faculty, and leadership. By having local control, we ensure transparency to donors and have the ability to raise funds for specific projects or needs. The Foundation has oversight by a board of directors, comprised of current and alumni parents, as well as the school’s principal. All San Diego Met families and staff are members of the Foundation.
A Big Picture Learning School
It is our vision that all students live lives of their own design, supported by caring mentors and equitable opportunities to achieve their greatest potential. We move forward prepared to activate the power of schools, systems & education through student-directed, real-world learning. We are activists.
