What We Do
Everything we do at SD MET Foundation is targeted to support the students, teachers and families of San Diego Metropolitan High School by providing a conduit for non-profit fundraising and related support to enhance the programs offered at the high school. We seek to enhance the educational experience and improve the connection between the school and student families through events and activities sponsored by the foundation.
SD MET Foundation was founded in 2015 as a 501(c)3 non-profit fundraising organization with five board members who meet bimonthly to set plans and address ideas on how to improve the San Diego MET High School experience.
All funds received remain at the school and are directed to projects that directly benefit San Diego Met students, faculty, and leadership. By having local control, we ensure transparency to donors and have the ability to raise funds for specific projects or needs. The Foundation has oversight by a board of directors, comprised of current and alumni parents, as well as the school’s principal. All San Diego Met High School families and staff are members of SD MET Foundation.
The mission of the Foundation includes:
- Enhancing and supporting the education experience.
- Developing a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement.
- Improving the environment at San Diego Met High School through volunteer and financial support.
